0804
I have few accounts that's late 30, 60 days but they are still open and I'm still using them now. How do I get rid of the late pays and is my credit score going to go up if I clear the late paid items?
retmar
One possibility is this. If the lates occured more than a year ago, you could write a goodwill letter to them requesting they remove the negative info. You would say something like you realize you were late and it was due to ??????. You understand that it is your responsibility to pay promptly. You would also state that you have corrected all problems and will never be late again, plus you have paid promptly for the past ????. You are hoping to purchase a home in the future and this could affect your interest rate. I think you get the idea. Some OC's will if you have displayed prompt payments for at least a year. Some want two years. In other words, it doesn't hurt to try.
0804
so is it possible to dispute on my CR says " never late" and have CRA to verify it with my creditor and see if it goes off?
wranglertj
I would be cautious disputing it as "never late" through the CRA. I had an open account deleted after disputing never late. I would suggest what retmar said, write a goodwill letter to the creditor. They may change it for you. If the first one doesn't, I would try a second letter...chances are of getting a different rep to read your letter would be better.

retmar
Do not dispute as "never late" with the CRA. It will definitedly hurt more often than help you. Write the letter to the OC.

morrow
If my account was closed by creditor but i'm still making payments to keep it in good standing, will goodwill letter make any differences?I had a Sears account that was closed by them, not me. I still have a balance too. I sent them GW letters both snailmail and via www.planetfeedback.com and after a few tries they finally acknowledged it and updated my account. Its worth a shot, what are they gunna do? Take your birthday away?
