drj99
How can you dispute as not mine and then move on to dispute the accuracy of the information when you just said it was not yours? Is it just a matter of the CA giving up?DrJ
ADSOFT
How can you dispute as not mine and then move on to dispute the accuracy of the information when you just said it was not yours? Is it just a matter of the CA giving up?DrJGood question.Ans: Sometimes mistakes happen: Such as consumers' files getting mixted up, Ca's are not collecting a file, wrong information gets reported. So to be fair to everyone the FTC, FCRA give you on chance to dispute the account as being yours. Once the account is verified as yours, the CA is basicallly saying "yes, i comming after you, it was not a mistake".Now you as consumer have some defensive positions you can take under the FDCPA and FCRA:Since "CORRECT INFORMATION MUST BE REPORTED", you now have the right under the FCRA to dispute EVERY item within the trade line that they are reporting.I hope that answers your question
