Ad, these were from the old board. I cut and paste useful info onto Word, so I still had them.

Dispute Excuses:

Not mine

Wrong amount

Wrong account number

Wrong original creditor

Wrong Charge-off Date

Wrong Date of Last Ativity

Wrong Balance

Wrong Credit limit

Wrong Status( there is about 20 right there)

Wrong High Credit (....the highest amount you used)

I didn't pay late that month

How can you dispute as not mine and then move on to dispute the accuracy of the information when you just said it was not yours?

Is it just a matter of the CA giving up?

DrJ

Good question.

Ans: Sometimes mistakes happen: Such as consumers' files getting mixted up, Ca's are not collecting a file, wrong information gets reported.

So to be fair to everyone the FTC, FCRA give you on chance to dispute the account as being yours.

Once the account is verified as yours, the CA is basicallly saying "yes, i comming after you, it was not a mistake".

Now you as consumer have some defensive positions you can take under the FDCPA and FCRA:

Since "CORRECT INFORMATION MUST BE REPORTED", you now have the right under the FCRA to dispute EVERY item within the trade line that they are reporting.

I hope that answers your question
