Ok here's the deal. There has been a charge off on my account for over a year. I have desputed as not mine and it was deleted from EQ and TU but Experian keeps verifyng it. How ? I don't know ! I've even called this company (Federated Financial) and they have no record of my SS# Name or address and yet it keeps coming back verified. The rep told me they need an accout number to be certain but the CR blocks out most of it. When I called Experian and asked them how they verify they said they use my SS# and account number but when I asked them for the account number they said they have the same thing I have (2 digits and XXXX) this was not good enough for me to use with Federated but I'm suppose to believe its good enough for Experian. I faxed them over a letter explaining this situation and my intention to sue if this account comes back verified again, Now let's see what happens

I called Experian yesterday regarding a procedural request. They said they sent it to me explaining how they verify information. I told him that I didn't see any specifics to the tradelines I requested the procedures for. He said that they do all of them the same, electronically.

I think Experian has tried rewriting the laws regarding this. The little blurb with investigation results regarding your right to a procedural request is punctuated differently than the FCRA and even how Equifax has it written in their correspondence. They try and imply that they only have to give the address, contact, and phone number if reasonably available. Whereas, in the FCRA it is only referring to the phone number if it is reasonably available. Anyway, just thought I would point that out since it is somewhat related.
