Hey Swede,

Thanks for the reply, I am having arthroscopic surgery on my left knee :( .

I am also in the process of clearing my grand-daughter's credit...she's six years old!

Anyway, I have followed admin's instruction and fired off a Debt Validation to the CA who is trying to settle the account.

What fools! I can't wait to see the signature on the application. I want to match it to my grand-daughter's 1st grade cursive handwriting :D

After the surgery I will have a lot of time to work on my credit. I'm having my computer moved from the office to the bedroom :) . I will stay in touch because I'm going to need a lot of support to deal with this poor ignorant CA..Plaza Associates.

That's hysterical, them kids start out early these days huh. What did she get? A credit card at toys'R'us?? :p

What complete idiots they are!! Fits in the category of reporting people as dead and my CA validating my account by reporting me as a stripper.

Anyway, good luck on your surgery and hurry back!

Identity Fraud in the first degree your honor :D .

Seems like we have a runaway six year old with a VISA card fixation and a mind to CHARGE IT :p

Anyway, I'll know more tomorrow when the surgery is scheduled. Hopefully the crew won't get to upset with me when I turn to the board for entertainment

Later for you ;) . Kim, I will e-mail you my AOL number so we can talk out of the suitcases :p

Hey Kimmy,

I missed you :) . Thanks for the update.

Don't hurt yourself with all those boxes :D . Remember you need your hands to ask and answer questions via the board :p

I will talk to you later in the week. Give you some time to do a few things. Have a Safe and Wonderful Thanksgiving :soppy: :sweet:

I don't think Plaza Associates will validate. They couldn't validate one for me and said they were turning it back to the OC - however, the OC continues to refer me to Plaza Associates! Please keep me posted on this one. Hope you are feeling better. :p

I see the boat is full of Plaza Associate CA victims :D .

I have been trying to get them off my grand-daughter's back for 6 months  . BTW, grand-daughter is six years old LOL. I spoke to a klingon yesterday and she said because I am not the legal guardian they can't speak to me."..have her call us to verify her ss#" :p :p

How ignorant can you be

I just wish I could nail them for sending another letter... I followed admin's advice and sent them a debt validation letter. Now they are trying to get smart and put on the ourside of the letter, "If this letter is not addres to you, do not open, return to postman."

Well it came to my home address and that's good enough for me :D . We'll see what they have up their other sleeve.

Let's keep each other posted :)

This one gets me ticked off. If they are certain enough that the borrower is not of legal age, how can they continue to go after her? One thing you should know, in most state minors can "disaffirm" contracts. So even if they claim your grandaughter signed the agreement, she can cancel it in most states. Tell me where she lives and I'll try to dig up some law for you.

What I love is the collection accounts for my children's medical bills. I have actually had them send the dunning letters addressed to the kiddos! Hmmm, by the time they turn 18, the SOL is expired, the 7 year reporting is expired!

I would love to see them try to take them to court! Haa Haa

Thanks for the response, support and ideas guys!

Kim, can't get my daughter to call...she is the culprit :( , My father(82 years young) is taking care of Jen out of state.

Calaywer, thanks for planting my feet back on the ground regarding her age. I was kind of being only the protective grandmother hen! Why do the young people use their children like this these days? I have never understood that...we're suppose to love and protect them.

SCMom, you are right, she's only six so the SOL will be up by the time she's 13 :) I need to work on stopping the mother...if I can find her.

From what I have read on the boards, Plaza Associates does not validate anyway. We will see what else is going to happen in this ongoing sad saga of CA vs six year old child...or as Jen says, "I'm almost seven grandmother" :)

vonniegirl, I was feeling so bad about your granddaughter being bothered by this ludicrous collection. Last night while working on my daughters reports for her I discovered they have listed my grandson as being a joint account holder with her. He is 8 years old, born in '94, and the account was opened before he was ever even thought of! Trying to figure out which way to go here. The account is scheduled to fall off in 2004, I believe. Sending disputes to CRA, then what? :notsure:

yea, it is frustrating...however becuase you have your daughter there you can proceed with DV. when they cannot verify your grandson's name at least he will be taken off the docs. Work on having the entry deleted or play the waiting game.

Also like calawyer said, he can "disaffirm" the debt or SCMom said the SOL will run out. Kids, you think you raise them right and do something like this :(

Louisiana Civil code section 1923:

A contract by an unemancipated minor may be rescinded on grounds of incapacity except when made for the purpose of providing the minor with something necessary for his support or education, or for a purpose related to his business.
