Anonymous Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Hi I wanted to tell everyone that if a company called Global Financial or Lenox calls you and tells you about a reditcard offer for a one time fee of 221.95 DONT BUY IT they are scams. They tell you all about the program and it sounds good but there is more to it. If you have been scammed by them please email me and I will let you know another site to go on and if we can get enough people that were scammed by them we may all be able to take them to a class action suite. I gave them an old checking actt # that is still active but rarely used (It has $2.00 in it:)). Maybe that is why I keep getting calls. People are really out there trying to take advantage of people trying to rebuild their credit. What is scary is how they got my private cell#
retmar Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 It is against the law to charge a consumer up-front monies for a CC. They can apply annual fees to the account once open only. Processing fees are still in question. Otherwise, anyone that charges a fee to open an account is a scam, most commonly Telemarketers. Got this info from the AG in Florida. Anonymous Posted April 14, 2003 Author Report Posted April 14, 2003 Im putting in my reply on this. I got scammed by these people (Global Financial) too. I wouldn't mind having 221.95 in my pocket so anyone scammed by them too, reply. I don't know if they even send a card. I never got one.

But IT NEVER COMES!!!!! They make it sound so great and when you dont get the card and when you call them to see where it is at they just keep telling you....Its is in the mail!. they are liars and they just take your money.

I to have been scammed by them...they kept saying its in the mail..or where sending a new one out to you from our corporate office...I ask for refund..they tell me 5 days I will have it...6 days comes and goes and still nothing..I call back and they say..oh its after 60 days we will have to send you some letter to sign..send back to them before I can get refund.
retmar Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 weso18, how and when did they get the money? If it was through an electronic debit, you have up to 60 days to stop payment. We live in California. Your bank will sometimes charge you for the service. You would have to sign a form stating a particular reason. We did it and used "not authorized" as a reason. we got our money back and the company involved never contacted us again. It was not Global.
weso18 Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Well, Unfortunately it has been just slightly over 60 days already since the debit transaction was made to this company. I am going to write a full detailed letter to my bank for investigation but I don't know how far that is going to get me. It's a pain to get ahold of this company..and when you finally get ahold of someone on the phone...they always seem to give me a different story of whats going on.
retmar Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Contact their State Attorney General's Office and file a complaint with them. Also, the BBB of their local area. Sometimes this gets them moving. Don't give up. Another thing is to try and find company owners personal numbers off of business names at their State sites. Then, have fun burning the lines and leaving all kinds of "polite" messages. Just stay one step this side of violation.

I told them what had happened and if I didnt get my money back I was sueing them. i recieved my check 2 weeks later for the full amount. So give this email a try. Anonymous Posted April 23, 2003 Author Report Posted April 23, 2003 Thanks, I'll give it a shot. Another company had the gaul to call my house this AM offering a similar deal for $249 pre-paid. My wife didn't give them a chance, click. It was pertaining to a $2000 limit Platinum card.

Anonymous Posted April 23, 2003 Author Report Posted April 23, 2003 Since I couldn't get anybody at Global Financial, I sent a nasty letter to the president of WebSmart Interactive in South Dakota, that's the company that provided the telemarketers who called your house for Global Financial. VICTIM Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 I read on www.eyeoncredit.com/warmings, that if you call the processing company, First American, and threaten them with fraud, you can get a refund. The phone number is: 1-480-785-2262, this is in Phoenix, Arizona.The other thing you must do is close your account, and open a new one (different number) as Global has HUNDRED'S of other DBA's they may use to get money from your acount.Also, file a UNAUTHORIZED DEBIT at your bank within 60 days. I worked for a company called Websmart Interactive out of Grand Forks, ND. I am ashamed to say I may have called your house. Some good news for you. Three callcenters as of April 25, 2003 went under one here one in canada and one other in Minot ND. You may not get any calls again because of this. I am heartbroken at what you have went thru . If I only knew what people were going thru sooner I would have quit sooner. I worked where I worked for almost 4 years. We lost our jobs and Global decided they werent going to pay us. We lost out on a months wages 100's of employees out of jobs all over. I hope I can help all the ones screwed over in any way I can. Again if I can help or anyone of us can help just let us know thanks
