The amazing travels of a DV letter!

I sent out a DV letter, overnight - very expensive. $14.00. Its destination was CA. I'm in MA. Anyways this is what happened:

Left P.O in my town, MA.

Went to central distribution area

Went to GUAM!

then onto Hawaii!

It ended up in CA. 7 days later! So much for overnight.

A little mis-routed I'd say! The P.O. did refund my money.

Its' funny because when I went to my local PO I asked the girl behind the counter which she thought would be best. USPS or Fedx. She said, "I don't know, I should do some research on it, but if you find out let me know because I am asked that all of the time!"

This was a one time thing I had to do for my credit repair, over-nighting letters, I don't need to do this in the future.

Yes, I agree Fedx for overnighting letters. It is a little more expensive than the USPS though.

IME - bottom line.. if it HAS to be there by a certain date/time do NOT trust the USPS. Ever since it went to a private company it has been WORSE than it ever was. What amazes me is the USPS posts millions in profits then cries and whines for a postage rate increase.. but WE get NO increase in SERVICE !!
