Anonymous
It is such a pleasure to go to the mail box each day and get normal mail, plus local junk mail that is at times useful, and not see a lot of pre-approved credit cards and applications, mortgage and loan deals, bank deals and other financial BS. It is such a pleasure to go about our day without having top answer a bunch of tela-marketers, other solicitors, collection agents, siding and roof deals, no bank deals, mortgage and loan deals, pre-approved credit cards and applications, or anyone else I do not answer to (caller ID and privacy). While some of the opt-out only works for three months, until they all reset their lists, it is great having a mail box and telephone that is used for what I pad for them!!!! Life is so much better without those aggravations, irritations, and unwanted BS. Now, if I want a credit card, mortgage, loan, bank account and other financial BS I just go get it. But, hey -- I am retired and my house and cars are paid for. Everything I own is paid for. What do I need with good credir? If I need it I can always go back to work or apply for welfare. Anonymous
Funny you mention long distance. A few months ago I was called by AT&T for a $7 charge. I do not have AT&T, and they never sent a bill. The chage was for a couple collect calls. So we went round and round about a previoud charge. We talked with no less than 15 people at AT&T. Finally it was settled. A month later we received a $15 check from AT&T to switch services! Last week we received a $20 check to switch!! You know what? The bill in dispute was for $18!!! I expect they will go tits up soon withthat kind of managment

If I get any snail mail offers I simply put old junk mail in their pre-paid envelopes and send it back to them. Best opt-out I ever thunk up.
