I just got sent one of those postcards in the mail about activating a master card that has been pre-apprved for me. Have to call the 800 number. Well, there was no company name, so I checked with the BBB. These people have a bad file with the BBB, and are bad news. They also operate under a couple different names as well. They want you to pay a fee for the credit card, as well as a membership program. I don't plan on calling, but I always check these places out before I call. Good thing I did. I just thought I would let everyone know.

I too received a pre-approved credit card in the mail years ago from a company I can't remember but they change names soon afterwards. It looked like junk mail so where does junk mail go? In the round file. There was a $5 membership fee tacked on automatically. It ended up on my credit report, a debt of $5. These people will do anything to squeeze money out of us. I wonder why they use such tactics when all they need do it provide a service! Scam of the third kind.
