Yes, they will accept disputes even after having received frivolous letters - you just have to space out your disputes further apart. Like 60 days, don't keep trying every 30 days, I know this is longer, but I don't see any other way about it at this point if Sears is not willing to help in the matter.

Also rotate what you are disputing, like one time say "not mine", next time incorrect status, incorrect last activity date, and so forth. You can circle back down to "not mine" again, and just keep at them, ok.

Sorry there is not better answer for when things get this tight.

Question how old is the late date showing up? If it is out of a two year period, other lenders won't be judging so harshly on these, and besides that it is not contributing to the score factor any longer, so this is really a small transgression over other things out there like collection & charge offs.

Its not that old..Its about 6 months old... I paid the card off in full and i also cancled it which i think was proably a mistake. My whole credit reports has only four things on it and this being one a collection ( which i succesfully had 2 collections removed) a accepted pay off, and 1 bank loan paid on time so this is really hurting me!

Yes, with the late being that recient, closing the account was pre-mature & will hurt the scores for another year and a half.

With such a small credit history established, yes the negative status bears 35% of the score, if you have too many inquiries this will drag you down as well.

If you have extra money at this time, contact a local bank about establishing an installment loan; even if it is secured, or another one is where you take out loan but use the money to open up a CD Account (they are more willing to do this type of loan since the money won't be leaving the bank, you just pay in each month until the loan part is paid in full). Then after a year or two you have got yourself a great savings account with interest added, pluss a tradeline added to your credit report.

What score range are you in at this time, have you checked?
