Hello everyone, My situation is that I recently had my BK discharged and what to get on the right track by rebuilding my credit and removing negative items on my report. I did keep my car and a property which I own, but now I am getting married in two years, (oh and by the way I never told my girlfriend about what I did! Was to embarresed) so therefore is a two year frame enough to get on track? Should I hire one of those credit companies such as Lexington Law Firm to help me remove negative items? Any advice from you wonderfull people will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

No you don't need to hire any company to help you clean up your credit, just stick around here & read up, this is better anyway because you will come away with an education for your effort in repairing your own credit.

No better way than hands on experience, your bankruptcy will follow you for 7 to 10 years no matter what when you go to apply for credit; especially if asked on the application if you had filed bk before. Don't matter if you do delete it, you definitley don't want to lie on this fact.

Anyway, that is no way to start out your marriage keeping such secrets, you should be up front and honest with her, if she is as good of a person that you think her to be, she will understand and appriciate all the more your honesty in the matter - that I can say for a fact.

If she does not, then you know you definitley picked out the wrong girl; ok. So you don't want to start out with this following you, cause sooner or later she will find out the hard way.

Ok, what you need to do first is get copies of all 3 of your credit reports, go through and dispute half of them as not being yours, then after the 30 days are up dispute the other half as not being yours. See what you can bump off of the reports just through disputing for right now.

Best of wishes, and congrats on your future marriage.
