Hi,

The dispute has been resolved according to Discover but I don't agreed with the decision. I have been paying off my Discover bill minus the disputed amount in question. It has been at least 3 months that I've been disputing with Discover on this issue. Does this change what you've mentioned below?

Thanks

Not really...if you're still disputing it, then everything I said is still the same. It's not a negative thing on your report. so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'd worry more about getting it resolved.

It's actually a good thing...since they're reporting it as disputed, they aren't reporting you as delinquent for the amount you aren't paying. :D

Hi

Regardless of how this dispute ends, I am extremely reluctant to use my Discover card. I've had this card for 10 + years and it is the longest I've ever had a card for.

Are there advantages/disadvantages to cancelling or keeping this card?

With a history that long, I'd be reluctant to cancel it...I'd just pay it off, and stop using it.

The biggest disadvantage to cancelling is that it will drive up your balance/limit ratio. You'll have a balance remaining, but will have $0.00 available. Now, some cards might report your correct limit and balance until it's paid off, but some will report it as a $0.00 limit. I wouldn't take the chance until it's paid off.
