Yaldain
Hey all =) I hope everyone's day is going good ! My question is this. I have had a kaufmann's account since 97 I got behind on payments and I owed them 551 dollars I was paying them at least something a month but they still reported me as 120 days late about 10 times over the last 2 years. This account is still open and last week like a fool I didnt call I just paid the 551 with out calling to see if they can delete stuff. So now the account has a 0 Balance it is still open and now in good standing. Is a good will letter worth it now since i just paid this on 6/2 ? Please advise as I would like to keep this account on my credit report and open but get the lates off if I can find out a way how.Mike
sisflomi
Try a goodwill letter, it can't hurt. Most that will happen is they say no. If it is open and you use it, you can always try to dispute the lates with the cra, I would say even if cra deletes it, the lates would come back again when the oc updates the account. And you take the risk that cra deletes the entire account. If you are not using the card then you would have a hard time getting it back on. kb9tbq
Another thing to try is what they call re-aging, some creditors will do this and wipe the slate clean on the reporting. Also for the good will letter a good site is www.planetfeedback.com. This gives the name of a key contact person & the address to send to for this company.Have a great day,
