Medical Collection!

I have a medical collection from an emergency room visit back in October 2001. The amount is for $135 and has been sent to collection. What is the quickest way to get this off my reports??? Since it is such a nominal fee I am willing to pay it. My husband and I are trying to buy our first home but need his scores to come up before they will qualify us. I have already done DV and they sent me back a letter saying they have fulfilled their obligation by sending me an itemized list of costs, info, etc. No signature on either documents! I never followed up from there. Again this account is unpaid but showing as collection. I need to get this off ASAP so we can buy a house!

What is the best and quickest method to take care of this? Again - I am more than willing to pay. When I tried dealing with this collection agency before they refused to delete the item so I never paid. Confused and eager to resolve...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

To get the loan going the loan officer only needs to see paid updated or reciept from this collection agency showing paid.

You can try once again to see if you can negotiate deletion for payment, but in this case if they won't budge you may just have to pay it anyway & ask for them to fax confirmation of payment received over to your bank.

You can go back after wards and try to dispute with CRAs for deletion on the paid collection, I know this is harder done then said, but you are trying to get that loan right now, and that is key importance here in this case.
