Starfinder
Let me start off by thinking you all for your help. I have another question. What is the best way to deal with a OC that was paid before (by one day or so) I received the letter from the CA. The CA simply sent a letter stating it was being placed on my credit report and that I could call them to make arrangements. My payment had already been paid to OC (Time Warner). Now I am showing this collection account as paid but still on my report. To make things more difficult. I have 3 copies of my credit report from 10/2002, 10/30/2002 and 3/2003. The report for 10/2002, Time Warner is showing up as the collector. Nothing is showing up on the report for 10/30/2002. Then on my 3/2003 report, CMI (CA) all of the sudden is showing up, and the mention of the OC (Warner) is not there. What is up with this? I have another account that this has happened to also. Anyone confused yet??????

That first letter HAVE to inform you of your rights to dispute the debt. You're going to have to treat this as any other CA you deal with. Have you disputed with the CRA's? They have a right to report on your files but you have a right to ask for proof and since this is paid, you have nothing to lose and hopefully you can get them into some violation to create leverage and force them to remove.<blockquote>Originally posted by StarfinderTo make things more difficult. Starfinder
I am not very good at using this board yet, but I am working on it. I hope I did not accidently reply twice. The only thing the letter from the CA said was that they were "reporting" me to the credit bureaus for my past due balance and that any payment I made would also be reported. They did not give me a chance to say it was already paid or anything. There also was nothing with the letter that said I had the right to dispute the letter.
