Wow..what a great site..I have been lurking for the last few days reading all I can. Theres honestly so much that I get dizzy..:) I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Here goes..

Background info: I started having marital problems in late 2000-2001, until then I had good credit(unknown score) I started a business and took out 4-5 accounts. Unknown to me, my now EX was also using my info to sign up for joint accounts. Well, of course things went south, both marital and due to loss of income from divorce, all these accounts went unpaid. I did get a few of the lower ones paid off, but I just got my EQ report and score. I was shocked. I have 12-15 outstanding accounts, charge-offs and inactives. I have 2-3 paid and 4 collection accounts. My FICO score from EQ is 485.

Here comes the good part...I have met a great person, my fiancee has been so great. She has AAA credit, her score from TU is low 800's. We are wanting to buy a house in the next couple of years, and I am determined to repair my credit, I jsut need some guidance. What can you guys suggest?? THANKS SOOO MUCH!

Okay, you should really get your other 2 credit reports, they may or may not contain other information you didnt know about.

Second, send out debt validation letters to the CA.

Here is that letter:http://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/sampleletter9.shtml

Next, make a list of all your neg. accounts

Send letters to the CRA dispute the charge-offs as not yours. Here is a letter for that:

If you have any late pays on accounts, try writing them a goodwill letter asking for a goodwill adjustment. Here is that letter:http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/cgi-local/cutecast/cutecast.pl?forum=1&thread=5192

Welcome to the board! Hope this helps.
