Georgia
Help,I have disputed a charge off with them. Came back verified. Now my mortgage broker wants me to just pay them (its a small amount) so we can go forward with my house loan...HOWEVER, its like they dont exist. I know they are bankrupt, but when I call the number listed by Equifax, they are out of order. I called Equifax to try and get a better number. It also didnt work...I am disputing again...but in the meantime I want to TRACK THEM DOWN!!!Somewhere someplace is verifying this debt, because they Equifax rep told me it was being electronically verified....KQB, if you are out there, I think you once told me there is a way to contact them, that someone was handling their old debts. If you have that info, please pass along!!!Thanks!Georgiab

Georgia
Thank you! I appreciate it! Now, my question is, is it worth it to ask them to provide me with some sort of evidence that I owe them this debt? Like my original signed contract, etc...? I would like an accounting of the amount they are asking for, as well as why they state that they recieved a payment from me in 4/2001. Thanks! Georgia
PS- I just called them to get a mailing address, (which took me a while to get), and I looked them up at the bbb...They have a ton of complaints with the BBB, and not a good rating...Also, when I looked them up at the bbb, OSI Collections also came up as them. And the numerous PO Boxes that it had almost matched the one they gave me.(I think this one just wasnt listed)So, since its a charge off, I kinda think it is this OSI Collections that is somehow reporting.....But on my credit report it looks like Hielig Meyers. So, Im wondering if I can do debt validation with these folks or not???
kb9tbq
Heck; you would ask that. I have been looking for a new member to join in the last few days - have not seen him yet. But a year ago; I helped him with a mortgage report which was showing this company; only reason I know this much in the matter. Last update with me; he said he had accomplished removing from his own credit report; but now says they are reporting on his wife's credit report (which is not right since this was solely his account). Will see if I can't locate him - see what is taking him so long to get in here. This individual had issues with manager agreeing to exchange the furniture purchased; but they went out of business & mater trust won't fix the problem (so he is not paying). So he is stuck with the bad furniture; they won't exchange now; or fix what was wrong - but expected payment.I am not so sure what to make of Master Trust; they are collection agency though; they only want money & don't deal with warrenty problems. I did not know there was another collection agency involved - must be something recent with them being in the picture. OSI Collections You have a few options here:1. DV them; & see if they fail to with demand to remove from your credit report. Be sure to get confirmation letter to show the CRA as well as your bank processing the mortgage to they know the fact of the matter.2. If they do verify; you can pay but negotiate for deletion & recieve confirmation letter to forward to the CRA & bank processing the mortgage as well. This all depends on how much time you have with the bank to wait on this process. You may be looking at 2 months at the least to get all this accomplished or to give yourself deadline to get this accomplished. Also will depend on if the bank will accept that the debt is paid; or if they insist on re-scoring on the credit report.
