melisadawn
I am trying to repair CR for myself and fiance. On his the last time I pulled it was Feb.15th 2003.To do the disputes do I have to have a current report (less then 30 days old) or can I use the one I have now? I pulled new ones for myself. kb9tbq
Have you disputed on his credit report since Feb?If so then you may want an updated report to view changes. You don't have to purchase credit report in order to dispute - you can dispute at any time (if you already know what needs to be delt with). But you must send in all the disputes by writing; since the call in method will most likely have expired. Most people purchase updated reports - so that they can keep up to date; like if a collection was added since then which you would over look not having purchased. melisadawn
Ok "stoopid" question. If I use his Feb Credit report to dispute now, and I order new report in June July and there is new stuff on it can I dispute the new stuff? No nothing is disputed yet. I just have the letter ready. paw67
Yes, you can use the report from Feb to dispute items now and when you purchase a new one in June or July you can dispute anything new on that one. Also, when you do disputes from the Feb report, if any changes are made to the report because of the disputes they will send you a new report with the updates/changes so you would have a recent copy then.paw67
kb9tbq
Once you send in one dispute; you don't want to disrupt this till you get the results back. Otherwise they may extend the investigation period should you dispute before the 1st one is up.
melisadawn
That is why I say June or July because I would send his out this week. I would not get another untill we know about the disputes on this one. Hmmm did not know they sent a new 1 free. woohoo. Bad thing on his is he has real disputes. His mom had put utilities in his name. Then moved and never paid But finally stuff from his ex is gone. She would order fingerhut ect.. without his knowledge. And we did not know of utilities till CR. Then found she did it to his sister too!!!!! Ohhh AND I have to dispute 4 of the addresses they have for him!!!! kb9tbq
This is a major problem I have seen before with family destroying the credit of others. You should treat this a an id theft case; file a police report. Notify the creditors & CRAs disputing fraud on these accounts. It may mean causing trouble for the family member; (that is your choice how far you want to take this though). But you have to consider that this is a crime; and this person just destroyed your credit for 7 years by all means. I personally would not let this person off the hook for abusing your trust in this matter.Good luck with your case; hope you can come up with a means to come out for the good in the end with your credit & piece of mind. melisadawn
It will be disputed but no he would never consider it a fraud. If stuff was on from his ex still he would. But since it is his mom he would not. I think the addresses they have for him that he was never at were ones she was at. But I can not be sure. smogtek
Best thing to do is get in a dispute every 60-90 days and the updated reports will keep coming in - NO CHARGE!I did this from April 2002 through the first part of this year with one exception.HTH

smogtek
I started requesting reports on 1 Apr 02.EQ Score - ?EX Score - 612TU Score - 613I disputed names and addresses and then started in on the CAs, etc.TU & EX scores dropped to about 595 at first, came up a bit a then leveled off in the low 600's until the last derogs came off when TU went to 695 and CE 738.EX(CE) went to a high of 738 and has settled in around 728. No new credit applied for, so the positive tradelines are few. TU is currently 695 with a charged-off utility about 5 years old. Finally checked EQ and it is 669 with an unsatisfied judgment and the charged-off utility.Short answer: Low 600's to mid 700's give or take in about 8 months.Still working the last two, but I think I'm gaining on it.I spent 4 hours per night for about 6 months straight 7 days a week to get here. It was like a part-time job! But, it worked. Used validation, AG offices, BBB and, in the case of one CRA, went to small claims to get some addresses removed. I've got 4 paid/released tax liens on all three CRs, but I'm not too concerned. Also a dismissed CH13 which has 1 more year to run. I figure once all the public records go I might see high 700's to low 800's.HTH
