Anonymous Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 Okay, I was able to confirm via privacyguard.com that my "middle score" had raised appropriately. Now I'm waiting for the lender to return my call and confirm that his report too shows the higher score.Silly question: There's no way PG could give me the wrong score, is there? My nerves are shot over this. Thanks in advance.
sisflomi Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 I don't want to burst your bubble, but it seems that pg shows my scores as TU EXP EQ 589 575 551Scores with TU report show 505, scores with EXP show 558. I did open an account in March that dropped my EXP on credit expert from 574 - 558, so could be that pg is not showing the score with the new account, as its pretty close to what it was before the account got open. I don't get TU at all, as it goes between 505 & 512, and for no apparent reason. I have had no activity on TU at all other than paying down two credit cards. No new credit or new pulls show on TU. I have heard the opp though, that pg is showing lower than actual reports. Who knows, maybe you will be one of the lucky ones. Fingers crossed you though, good luck
crofttk Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Unless the source of your score says it's a FICO score, NOT "personal credit score" or something else, it can be significantly different from your true FICO score ! The one score provided with your PG report is NOT FICO. If you pay extra for the other 2, I don't THINK those are FICO either. Most mortgage lenders are looking at FICO scores.Someone speak up iF I'm mistaken.
sisflomi Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Thats stinks. How can they charge you 10 for fakos??????? Gezzzzzzzzzzzzzusssssssssssssssss!!!!
smogtek Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 I think most will agree that the only real or valid score is the one from EQ.I "monitor" using CreditExpert, but if I need something "real", I'll go with EQ.
sisflomi Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Isn't creditexpert experian?? and not eq???? PG is eq right? My score should be back up with exp after another payment or two I hope. Its creeping back after the dive for opening it.
smogtek Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 CreditExpert is EX.CreditWatch is EQ I believe.I don't know about PG. [Edit by smogtek on Thursday, May 1, 2003 @ 08:06 PM]
sisflomi Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 So you are saying that the truest score is with EQ? Do you just pay for it when you want it or do you use their monitor service too? I do have credit expert, and I like that one best out of all the ones I have tried. worthknowing.com don't seem like its worth much for tu. Gives a score of 1 and up. PG seems kinda iffy, certain scores seem okay, but like I said, pg shows tu as 594 or 584, and tu shows it 505. does myfico.com have all three scores do you know?
smogtek Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 The general concensus is that EQ is the "only real" FICO score.Currently I'm using CE as a monitor.I'm thinking about not renewing CE (although I like being able to pull unlimited reports)and signing up for the EQ monitoring product.I'm not that score driven right now. I have one derog to get rid of so I can buy a house and I'm not applying for any new credit.
sisflomi Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 I got ce on accident, didnt know it was past 30 days an they charged me, so I just kept it. Once all my disputes are done, I might do privacyguard.com. They are good just for monitoring cr. And some say you can only do one fresh pull a day, but for some reason I am getting two. The score is EQ with pg. That score seems to creep up a point or so each day.
crofttk Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003
Originally posted by smogtekThe general concensus is that EQ is the "only real" FICO score....
I'm in line with that. When I purchase at EQ, or myFICO.com for that matter, it always says FICO score. FICO is a trademark and they couldn't use it otherwise. You can get your true FICO score based on your TU file either at myFICO.com or from TU. In the case of TU, just make sure though that you pick TU "FICO" score and NOT TU "personal credit score".I've never seen a place you can get your EX FICO score, but surely someone licenses with (un)Fair Isaac to use their secret formula to apply to an EX report ???
almost_there Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Oh geez! I used conumerinfo.com to get all 3 of my scores and unfortunately, I see now they are referred to as personal credit scores, not FICO's. Darn it! My other source of scoring from last month was CreditXpert (now that I read the fine print) I truly am learning something new everyday. Next time myfico it is!
Anonymous Posted May 2, 2003 Author Report Posted May 2, 2003 Well well well. What a wild ride it's been! We're approved for the mortgage and, thanks to a friend knowledgable in real estate with a keen sense of "hidden addendums", we fared well. In the process, the rapid rescore deleted (paid for deletion) my three year old charge off and the minor CC for 104. Now I have neither good nor bad credit and a mortgage for $379,000. I guess that's about as close to a fresh start as a man can ask for in this world.BTW, I don't necessarily mind paying for the deletion. I was a jackass three years ago and am fortunate all that was leftover was a petty $700 charge-off and a $104 vet bill. Just didn't take it seriously enough. Won't happen again.
sisflomi Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Well, congratulations to you!!!!!!!!!!!! I too have learned my lesson and won't get in this boat again.
edubb007 Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 I think we've all learned our lessons. Being here proves that! As far as score, I have CE and EQWatch, I tried Privista and all the others. CE is the best for everyday score monitoring but is not that accurate. I also have found the EQwatch is not so accurate as well. I went to eloan.com. They have a way to pull one report for free W/ score. So I pulled it . I was at 560 through them. I've been above 600 with all the others! So I don't know about how REAL the scores are on the monitoring programs. By the way ELOAN pulls EQ score. Boo
