ok so if there is a collection for say $275 on my report from verizon i'm not sure what 2 do.

from what i've read on here alot say claim as not mine and have them validate it but say 30 days pass and they don't validate it. it is a true debt so once its off won't verizon just report it again and it will just show up again.

woudn't it be better 2 pay it and then wait a little. then claim as not mine so if it drops off it will stay off?

holla

True...but if this happens, the CRA is required to notify you within 5 days that something deleted has reappeared on your report. If they don't, you can usually use their failure to notify you as leverage to get them to delete the TL.

Welcome to the board, first, lets get the terms straight, when you dispute with the CRA, they verify, not validate. Since this is a closed account, it's not like the CA or OC sends information on a monthly basis like open accounts do and like Brass says, they have to notify your within 5 business days if it is reinserted.

Definately not. A paid collections is just as bad as unpaid and does nothing for you and you lose a lot of leverage. Also, by paying it, you're furnishing them with fresh stuff that they might use against you.

Brass - i thought of that but doesn't that get out of hand having 2 go back each time 2 have them delete?

Each time? There will be only one time because more than likely, the CRA will fail to notify you which is your ticket to deletion again should it be reinserted.

Normally no.
