karmicways
I JUST got off the phone with Experian, trying to dispute 5 inquiries on my credit report (Discover, OSI, GECCCC, Pacific Capital Bank, and Capital One) Again, they tell me that they will not delete those and that as long as the creditor has "permissable purposes", then they ahve to be reported. I said, but I did not give them permission to pull my credit. And she told me that if they pull my report to extend me credit, then it is permissible purpose. I told her that the law states that if there is ANY information in my credit report that I ask them to investigate, they have to. She said, no.. there is more information in the laws that exclude inquiries.Of course, I tried pulling it up online and read it to her, but couldn't find that part while under pressure. What is the trick to getting these taken off? caliwomen2000
what i did do for a couple of inquiries i called the creditor directly and played " the i am trying to buy a house and noticed a inquiry for your company (nordstrom, few auto dealers, citibank card, associates, zales, qvc) can you please tell me why i was declined" and they would look up by my ssn or name and couldnt find me. When i realized he couldnt find me by ssn and then would say well we only keep apps on file for 30-60 days i knew i had them. So then i would kindly as the rep to get me a supervisor to see if they could find it(knowing they wouldnt) and the rep would gladly transfer and the supervisor would try and failed so i asked to send me a letter so i could get this deleted... Did that with EQ 5 of 6 deleted... EX 1 of 1 deleted ...waiting from letter from Chase Manhattan to fax to TU..
karmicways
Get this:I went ahead and called one of the people listed, as Experian told me to, and they said that they can't delete it, that I need to contact Experian and dispute it. I told them that EX told me that I couldn't. The lady said that's my only hope.
