Anonymous
My father had failed to play my college tuition one semester, and the school never notified me once. I was only aware of the problem when a collection agency contacted me; at that time, the amount was paid in full. However, it is reflected as a charge off and collection account (that was paid) on my experian credit report, which had a score of 660 back in February. I contacted the school via certified mail to explain I had never received notice, and when I was aware, I paid in full. However, they declined to remove this from my report. Are there any other actions I can take? Anyone?
lisak72
You can try www.planetfeedback.com. Write a letter on there. Most times this gets you a contact person other than the normal customer service rep...somebody who actually might be able to do something about this. Your other option is disputing it directly with the CRAs, but if this was recent, chances are they are just going to verify it.
