Goodwill, advice?

Hi everyone, I wonder if you might tell me how you think this sounds and if you think it might get my friend the one 30 day late off of her reports.

I had an auto loan with GMAC open in September 1999 and it was paid in full and closed by December 2000. I ended up going through a divorce just after getting this loan. I had to go out and work two jobs and was going to school full-time while taking care of two children and a home. I had no help from anyone at this time in my life. Somehow, I am not sure if maybe I got so busy with my life that I just forgot, or if the mail delayed my payment, but I had a late payment to this account. It is listed as 30 days in January 2000 with TransUnion and Equifax and 30 days late February 2000 with Experian. As soon as I realized what happened, I changed my payment method so that the payment would come out of my checking account automatically each month. I have since paid off the first loan and gotten a second auto loan with GMAC. I have not had any other late payments since then. I am about to refinance my home to a rate that could be 3.5% lower than I am now paying. I know with this 30 days late showing, I am not going to qualify for the best rate that I can get and have earned. I wonder if you might find that I have since the one time being 30 days late proven myself to be a valuable customer to GMAC. And if you do, I wonder if you might find a way to correct or delete this late pay from my credit reports. If you can see it in your hearts to do this for me and my family I would forever be grateful to your company. And I will forever be a customer to GMAC. I love the autos that I have gotten, and the financing has just been awesome too!

And does anyone know if goodwills work with bestbuy?

That sounds good SIS!!

Not sure about BB though. You never can tell when sending GW letters to OC! Sometimes they bite, sometimes they dont. Never hurts to try and BE PERSISTANT....keep sending them until they act on it! :p

Thanks morrow, she wants to re-fi her home and I told her take a look first and see. Wouldn't ya know, a 30 day late from 2000 w/gmac and a 30 day late w/bestbuy from this past december. She really needs this as it would take her interest from 7 to 4.5% and will shave a couple of hundred off her payment. I warned her that bestbuy is a beast to work with. They closed the account too. I know thats prob hurting the score. She was 690 with pg, so her fico should be pretty good.

Thanks Rainbow, I am usually so lousy at that kind of stuff. I called TU the other day cause my files are splilt, and I had the chance to say, nope, thats not my name, never used it, and I couldn't for the life of me get it out. I am not a good liar. But shes been my friend since we were 12 and we are 35 this year. And I really want to see this happen for her. I guess its much easier to do it in a letter than to do it on the phone. I am sending prayers up that it helps her. Thanks for the support from you both.

:worry: I'm so sobbing at my desk... GW letter all the way! Try it again if it doesn't work the first time. I stated that if they check my accounts I've been urrent since my hard times. It sees to work. Sad story/proof of fixing/proof of paying on time now... Good equation. Good look!

I need a tissue! =====EDubb007 sniffles======

keep me posted! :(
