laura66
Hi, I know the CRA have 30 days to RESPOND to disputes, but what is the average time it actually takes? On the Equifax site, it says that they have 30 days, but most are actually resolved in about 2 weeks. One of my lates was updated to positive status within 2 weeks, I'm just watiting on the stupid collection accounts. What is everyone's experience with this? Just gettin' impatient... techgoddess
In my experience so far, in my first round, a lot of stuff got deleted right away. Now it's taking just about the full 30 days for everything. I think it depends a lot on the OC or CA and whether they respond to the CRA or not. If the OC or CA doesn't respond, the CRA takes the full 30 days to complete thier investigation.

miwankiw
After my initial disputes, all subsequent disputes have gone the distance, and sometimes more...I find that TU updates a little quicker for me,Experien usually is on day 30and Equifax sometimes goes over. For both positive and negative...my luck.. usually 1/2 get removed; the other 1/2 validated.Mark
Anonymous
what i have found is this, "if it does take the full 30 days" and this depends on if you have CALLED the CRA's to ask for the status... while they may not update via 'reports online such as creditwatch/manager" they still know what's going on in their little computers...it's usually a good sign.i have found that with old collections they get deleted because of THIS: CA's seem to 'move around a lot' and not update their new addresses with the CRA'... so if the CRA doesn't have a good address on the CA, then they 'can't' respond, so it's deleted.that would be one case senerio regarding a full 30 days dispute, but i would recommend calling and checking the status. if they respond super quick, then they just checked their tapes, which in that case i would request info on 'how they verify with furnisher's of info' and get in their face like that. TU is much faster, EX in the middle, and EQ always takes the whole time.
