bayview
Yee Ha! Things are looking up and I had to tell someone. The methods on this board really do work! Just got off the phone with a bank that I had a line of credit with that was listed 'included in bk'. It's always been reported as that and showed no recent payments since 2000, even though I had been making regular payments to get rid of the small balance and have a major bank on 'my side'. The rep said by law they had to report that this acct. was included in bk, even if I paid it off. I explained, nicely, that also, by law, since this acct. was included in bk, the bank should not have beeen automatically withdrawing money from my checking acct. to pay on it, since I had already made a payment. The rep. decided that the bank should be reporting to the big 3 that there was a recent, low balance, and recent payments had been received, and the acct. would not be listed as included in bk. He was initiating the action as we spoke and told me to call him in 30 days and the 3 CR should show that this acct. was paying as agreed w/o mention of bk. Sorry so long, but it was nice to hear some positive news, instead of 'fighting' all the time with creditors. Long way to go, but the help on this board has paved the way. Many thanks. kb9tbq
Where you re-affirming on this debt? if so they at least should of been reflecting this, but not to look a gift horse in the mouth - you definitley made accomplishments which I would of not thought possible. So they are going to leave you with this account? Open or is it closed? That is great news none the less - congrats.
Capepuffin
That sounds great bay, but did you get it in writing? I hope that they do report it pos for you but try to get your contact at the bank to put it in writing. This way you have something to send to the CRA's if they don't update it they way they promised.Congratulations!
bayview
Thanks cape, excellent idea to get it in writing. This rep is local so, I could actually show in person at the banks credit center. and kb, thanks also, it's at least one step forward when I wouldn't have had any if I hadn't found the info on this board. The bank had closed the acct. once it went bk. but I thought why have this negative, especially from a major bank hanging around. So the deal is I pay on it and they show the payments and the remark 'paying as agreed' w/o the bk showing. One mmore pos. tradeline, albeit, a closed one. kb9tbq
That is definitely great news that they negotiated not to show re-affirmed on this. Even if it is closed, you now have one more positive tradeline.Maybe down the line this creditor will do business with you again.
