Anonymous
Twice when I requested investigations into disputed items online with TU, I received email confirmation that my disputes had been properly registered and that I'd hear back in 30 days. The first time (after a late April dispute), I waited the 30 days and called TU, only to be horrified when they told me there was no record of the dispute and I'd have to start over.I then re-disputed a couple of days later. When I called back the next day to check on these, SAME STORY (i.e. no record of the new disputes)!! I then initiated my disputes over the phone, and received in the mail confirmation that the disputes were underway.SEVERAL TU reps told me there were problems with TUs online dispute mechanism. That got the wheels turning, so I sent them two letters via Fax and FedEx demanding that they delete ALL four of my negative entries. I've also called them several times to register the same complaint. My last letter indicated that I would be seeking legal action (i.e. $1,000) if the entries were not removed for failure to respond to my request for investigation. I also indicated that I would be contacting the FTC to inform it that TU's online dispute service was NOT operational as advertised (which I most definitely will do). TU's technical difficulties are underscored by their system being down on at least three occasions when I've called them recently.Anyone else have experience registering your disputes online with them?So far, I've found TU's customer service to be the worst of the three. Anyone else?
marisakay
well I havent disputed online, but yes there customer servcie is bad!! at least in my experience! they are on day 50 for DH's disputes and day 40 for mine. We sent them ITS letter on June 4, and they said that was when they received the disputes!!! Not April 21!! we have the green card to proof it! so dh said if they weren't deleted by July first we would be filing a suit. Let's see what they do, I am sure they think we are blowing smoke. As for my disputes they still haven't responded to the ITS letter. I should hear something in the next day or two, if not I will be giving them a call. TU is DH's only report w a negative on it...they others have deleted it. I am hoping this is deleted, so we can get our house loan.
miwankiw
TU is pretty bad... the first thing to realize, is that unlike Equifax that shows your on-line items in dispute on your credit report, TU does NOT do that... so, if you were to look at the items shortly thereafter, you wouldn't notice a difference...the second thing, is do you have the emails confirming that the investigation had been started... if you do, then my recommendation would be to demand deletion stating that they are in violation. Anonymous
TU is so laaaaaaaaame!! I've hammered them, but they're slow. If you have multiple stuff in dispute, they delete/update ONLY after the 30 days is up, rather than individually like the other two.
