Rent, utilities, cable etc...

Well there are some rent places I had recently seen on credit reports but for the most part - this is not a general thing for these types of businesses.

Utilities like power & gas have suddenly started reporting in the last year, and see them only picking up more as they go along.

Cable companies don't report, but if you go delinquent they may turn you over to a collection agency like the other two mentioned can do. The collection agency will be sure to report on their behalf that is for sure.

Now for building home made credit this is a great option if a bank will accept you proof. I have seen people send letters of recommendations from landlords, copies of payment histories from the other two, in cases where they did not have sufficient credit of the usual sense. It is do-able, you just have to find a bank that accepts this policy.
