Have they completely validated without incurring ANY violations or why are you settling? Having a paid collections is just as bad as an unpaid collection. Also, why are you calling them? ALWAYS deal w. CA's in writing only.

A tip, when asking related questions, even if you start a new thread, it would be really great if you link the other related thread to your particular case. Xanathos
There's another thread, Swede. Short version is they're trying for a house, this was apparently already settled, but this other CA noticed that they were trying for a mortgage, upped the balance on the CR, and is saying it wasn't ever paid...Mari doesn't wish to wait to fight the good fight, so they're just going to pay these guys off whatever they paid them last time again.Everybody's always in such a damn rush, these days EDIT: Woops, just saw the end of that thread..extenuating circumstance. But I'd still fight it out. 5200(1700 settled) in interest on a 300 dollar debt? Not a chance in hell[Edit by Xanathos on [TIME]1056557940[/TIME]]
marisakay
i am trying to get this taken care of ASAP in order to get this house we really like. Bank said this must be settled first in order to get our loan. this is the only thing stopping us.i did not mine with all 3 CRA's and round 1 on EQ and EX got them off! TU is being scumbags and they received disputes on April 21, and are still using their original 30 days!!! they say they received disputes on June4 (thats when they received the ITS letter). they are nowing saying the end of 30 days is July 4. I was going to wait and see if Asset was going to come off next week, but they have already updated the balance, so I am sure they will validate. They also know that we applied for the mortgage because of the inquiry...I told em "hell no we arent applying for a mortgage!! my dh is unemployed adn we are about to file bankrupt!!!" they said "well his credit looks pretty good!!"....ooops! they are on to me too well..i made some errors but looks like now if we want this house we are going to have to pay up....unfortunate but true.
