miwankiw
On Thursday, I received a call from this law firm in California... because of the holiday, I haven't called them back...I can only think of one reason that I might be getting a call.. I have a potential charge off that I have disputed from First Union. After I closed my account, they continued to access on-line banking fees and a monthly fee for two months. Then they added a $30 charge off fee... the total is $53. NCO was chasing me for it, but would never agree to document that by paying it off, it would never be included on my report.. so I'm thinking the collection has moved on... but a lawfirm for $53.. that's a bit weird to me.If anyone has ever heard of them, please share any experiences.. I plan on calling them in about 3 hours to see what's up.ThanksMark
curlytop
MoFo is a HUGE law firm in CA. I would be totally shocked if they are calling you about a $53 debt. They deal in much bigger fish than that.My guess is they are calling you about something totally different.Good luck.

curlytop
For future reference... anyone can look up a law firm and their profile at martindale.com I believe most reputable firms are listed. It tells their size, location, attorneys and what kind of law they specialize in.You might want to look up MoFo there. I don't think they do debt type stuff, but I could be wrong. They are not the typical attorney/CA set up, that I know. Maybe they are contacting you about a random (non-debt related) case that deals with someone you know, not even about you. That could be why she couldn't find your file. Don't worry too much. !@#$
