myFICO scores are rocketing...

I get up this morning. I do my PG thing. Hmm. My Pulaksi Card hits

my credit reports. (EX, EQ) I check out my FICO at myFICO.com I almost fell

over. It is a wopping 741! My TU is over 700. Man this site works. I also

procured an 1998 Cadillac Deville with 50,000 miles on it yesterday. My

credit union, (I swear by them even though I actually work at a large national

banking organization) almost laughed when I was questioning if my credit was

good enough to get their most prime rates. Yup, it was. 700 Club and climbing.

Happy 4th of July. :p:) ~0 :):p

A Credit Card with Pulaski Bank in Little Rock Arkansas. It is considered the premium card in the country.

Its fixed at 5.5% It pulls stricly from Trans Union. From what I understand not only do you need a good 680+

FICO from Trans Union but a nice hefty income. I eliminated all derogs from my TU and had around a 680 when

I applied. Almost at the same time I applied for a Generations Bank CC card (Also a TU exclusive). Same day also

the Household set. Got em all. These greatly reduced my balance to limit ratio. With some nice clean 10 year +

lines and eliminating some pesky low buck medical collections my scores are getting high. I actually started in

Feb and just signed a new lease because I want premium rates when I buy a house next spring. I wish I hadn't

because my middle score is now 703 and my Pulaski and some of others have not hit the TU report yet. I know

they are going to lower my score but the effect of lowering my balance ratio had a better effect than a lowering

due to it being new credit. I also used the FICO score simulator and I plan on just about eliminating all debt before

buying next spring. It said my Equifax FICO would be 781- 821. I still can't think that is possible. I started with

a 600 FICO now with a 741 and by next year anywhere between 781- 821. I have never used DV but always

did disputes. Most disputes came because I was persistant and patient. Get rid of old addresses. Get rid of your

name variations that CA may have. Example. James vs Jim If one CRA deletes because of not being able to verify,

make sure to have CA notify the 2 others that this is the case.

Keep at it all,

and threaten to sue.

I am happy for you! My score started out as a horrible 525 and now my TU is 601 and my Equifax is 627. Don't know about Experian, they are difficult in terms of getting deletions...

Anyway, what is this about disputing on the grounds of an old address or an incorrect name? Please elaborate!!! I wanna be in the 700 club!!!

Have the 3 CRA's remove all your old addresses. Say you have lived at your

current address for 10 years. Most people have just called the big 3 and had it

done. It may show as "In Dispute" for a couple days then fall off.

The logic is then when you dipute as a NOT MINE the 3 CRA's will not have any

prior addresses to MATCH with on electronic tape, or can't provide any to the CA's

to verify. This is also very effective with names. Escpecially if there are those of

you who have maiden names on your report. Get rid of em then dispute. They will

fall off like dead flys. I have even done the double whammy of both name and address.

Here is an example of some name variations.

James Alfred Jackson

Jimmy A. Jackson

Jim A. Jackson

J. Jackson

James A. Jackson

Jim Jackson

James Jackson

Remove all except 1. Dispute away. They need an exact match.

Go get em...

timber,

Awesome successes! I've found, however, that a lot of the success in credit repair comes from sheer tenacity and a lot of luck.

I've tried the name variation game, but frankly the CRAs don't seem to care if you're Jim or James, same difference to them. Close is accurate enough. Trying over and over again until you get a sympathetic ear seems to work well. I also try to be very kind, courteous and, as needed, self-deprecating. I've even heard of people playing "dumb hick" both on the phone and in writing (misspelled words, as if the CRAs know how to spell, LOL!)

Bottom line is you need to be determined, persistent, patient and creative. Most of all you need to realize that you didn't get bad credit overnight and it can't be repaired overnight.

Again, congrats on the successes. You're an inspiration to all.

Oh, you got my card! ugh!!!

I have been trying forever and got a bit higher scores then you, and they just killed me on the underwriting - cause they included all my joint debt on my credit report against me. Told me I was 49% debt to income / when actually I was only 26%, so mad about that. So now I have to wait and re-apply jointly with DH since they are counting both of our debt solely against me

So - unfair, the set back - having to wait to get that card, cause I know I have to clean a few more things off of DH's report before trying again.

Congradulations - maybe I will have mine yet this year, but I really shuffled things around; and just have to wait for it to settle after buying our house & refinancing car loan this year.

I have posted this elsewhere, so I apologize, but since it pertains to scores, I'd love your opinion. What do you do when someone like Ex or Tu keeps verifying an innacurate tradeline? I have a letter from the OC but I'm afraid they will just update and I want to play that card of "well, it is inaccurate so just delete..." Any suggestions? If you want, refer to my thread titled "IDIOTS AT EXPERIAN."

Here is a question...when you dispute your old address and you are doing this over the phone with a CRA, they often ask "What, you never lived there?" In many cases it IS a legitimate address. Am I better off just lying and saying no? That's what I did a few times. However, I figure lie about the addresses I was not at very long first, so that if they get deleted, at least the others were places I lived for say 3 or 5 years, respectively. Or, how can I justify having them delete them all?

This is very interesting to me. One of my cc's was opened in my maiden name 8+yrs ago. I never had it changed. Do I now call and dispute the acct being in my maiden name? We have also lived at numerous addresses (due to military). Do I simply call and say I have not lived at any of those previous addresses? Is there no way they can verify that? This would be an AWESOME loophole!!!
