Grace
Last week I shared that I got a phone call from someone at CA. He tried to engage me in conversation, and I hung up after I said "I don't talk to CA". The first time he called the caller ID phone number showed 999-999-xxxx. After I hung up, he immediately called back, this time the caller ID showed Unknown, Unknown. Of course I hung up on him again. (I was thinking, harassment!)Anyway, at the same time every day, I get 4-5 hang ups with the caller ID saying Unknown, Unknown. Is there any way to find out if this is the same person? Everyone seems to be so good at handling this stuff, thought you might have some ideas.ThanksGrace
cybercrusader
Forwarding your calls to the FTC at that particular time of day should solve the problem. If the CA is using a computer dialer, you'll get the same calls every day at the same time even if the jerk is not at his or her desk! File a complaint with your telephone company and ask them if they can put a trace on the phone calls. And if you haven't already sent the CA a cease and desist letter, now's a good time. Grace
Actually, I have sent the Cease and Desist, Debt Validation, and SOL letters. I think that's why it ticked him off. Thanks, forwarding to the FTC is a good idea! Also the phone company.Grace

ghacorp
Here are your options:1. Resend C&D letters2. Change your phone number to an unlisted number3. Leave your phone on ANS at least until 9 P.M. daily
bw4444
Caller IDs are easily spoofed--just do a google search on caller ID spoofing....CA's will try to get around the caller ID by spoofing. For example, if they have more than one number for you, they might use one of those as a caller ID number. You think your wife is calling from a cell phone and, shazzam, it's THEM! One CA used a local bank for their Caller ID number when calling me. I filed a complaint with FTC and sent a letter to the bank letting them know someone is impersonating them.Anyhow, CallerID is not completely foolproof--but still effective.
