Consumerinfo.com inquiring on report but I am not a member!

I have almost 30 inquiries within the last two months on my equifax report from consumerinfo. com. However, I am not signed up wih them. Upon investigating, I finally found out that the inquiries were made on behalf of Privacyguard but no one can explain why consumerinfo comes up on the report and not Privacyguard. Privacyguard claims they don't use consumerinfo.com yet consumerinfo. com says otherwise!

I am nervous because I don't know if it will affect my score. Equifax claims it won't but I am not so sure. Inquiries on EQUIFAX that do not affect the credit score tend to have and abbreviation- AR, EQ etc. in front of them. These consumerinfo.com inquiries do not.

Should I request that Equifax remove these inquires or should I just let it rest?

FYI - I had the same question as you re: the consumer info inq. not having that abbreviation on it, and I called them to confirm it was a soft inquiry. It was. Don't worry :D As for PG not claiming to have any relationship with Consumer info, I have no idea what that is all about. Mine has always come up as Consumer info when I pull PG. But, It is not affecting your score so don't worry about it :)
