DV "Responses from requests" Need help please

Recommended Posts

Okay, CSC="Equifax" is reporting a negative with Montgomery Wards, I disputed the debt with CSC, and requested validation from MW.

MW reply was this:

We have recieved your recent inquiry reguarding your credit card account. You have indicated you believe we have reported inaccurate information about your account to a reporting agency.

We would like to assist you with your concern, however, we have been unable to locate any record of an account with the information you have provided us.

In order that we may better serve you, please providse us with a copy of the credit report that shows the information you are questioning.......

They want my previous names if any, my SS# as well as my husbands ss#.

Now I just requested validation of the information that was on the CSC credit rep[ort. Any suggestions on how to proceed???

Now on with First Premier.......as some of you may know I have been disputing with Experian over AU negatives on my report with no success....so I requested validation from the original creditors....This is First Premier's reply:

Thank you for contacting us reguarding credit card account number #########

You are listed as an AU only on this account. The account can be removed from your report by completing a consumer dispute verification form with your local credit bureau.

We are glad to be of service. If you have any questions.........................

So how should I proceed now with the AU status with Experian?????

send in a dispute with a copy of that letter from them. Be sure to highlight the fact that it can be removed.

As far as MW is concerened, send them a 15 day letter, explaining that they now have 15 days to send you validation or you will sue them. I've gotten deletion letters from CAs after sending the 2nd DV letter. Don't forget, it's their job to validate the debt, not yours.

MW, is requesting account number as shown on credit card, any other names it may be under ss# of myself and spouse??? Do I just ignore their request to my validation, and request another validation???

Thanks again.

Should I include a copy of my Equifax report where it is showing as a negative?

That is great news that they sent you a letter saying that you could dispute this with the CRA for removal!!! - Send a letter to Experian including a copy of this letter they sent back to you with the instructions on disputing this account!!!

Looks like you have your way out on this one - right there!!!

Good luck

Rightfully they should not be able to verify this account exists since Wards went out of business,

Would right back and inform CSC that this company went out of business, and that you want this tradeline removed since it is no longer relevent.

--- I don't think Wards had a back up company - sometimes there are like example would be heilig meyers - a collection company called master trust that I knew of bought their accounts and still work them. But they hide behind heilig meyers name, and wait for people to make the mistake of thinking to dispute then they start their collection efforts. I have also heard that OSI picked up some of their accounts too.

But really I did not think Wards had sold any of their accounts, so the tradeline should be removed.

My thinking is the same, but it really is not showing as a negative . It say's the account was transfered or sold, and shows no lates and no balance so I guess I will just leave it alone for now, as it is not a negative, I just didn't like the sold or transfered statement.
