VaSwtness
Tried to sign my husband up on PG the other day. It wouldn't go through, said to call 888, etc. He called today and found out that Equifax is reporting a different SSN for him so PG won't work until they fix it.How should he proceed at this point? Considering we're both trying to fix our credit, I wonder if we can use this to our advantage at this point.Any thoughts? Thanks.Va
paw67
Does your DH have a common name or is he a jr, sr etc? This could be cause for a mixed filed. If I were you I would send EQ a copy of his DL, SS card and a recent utility bill. These items will prove who he is, his ssn# and the current address. Good luck!!paw67
VaSwtness
Nope, no Jr, Sr, etc. We pulled his Equifax not long ago with no problem so I'm assuming this has happened in the last few weeks.
thefall
I have read of problems with PG (I subscribe ) when you use the same CC/debit card to enroll two people in the same household i.e DH+DW+same CC=PG error code.
Bluebyu
I had signed me & my husband up for PG. It was fine for one week then, it said the same thing...To call this number and he did, they said experian would not let them pull it.......He had just got copys of all three reports, in the mail...We looked on the Experian and found one number wrong with SS# on credit report....We fax over a copy of SS# to Experain... And a couple days later it was letting him pull again from PG...
md
I had a similar problem with EQ as soon as bumpage started occurring. I presume a split file. It was resolved within a week.
kb9tbq
Mixed files are a very common problem - many people can go years with out realizing what has happened. It is almost as bad as ID Theft (but in this case due to clerical error). It would be a good idea to ask the CRA which creditor contributed the incorrect social security number so you can hunt them down to correct the matter. Or to at least make a note of who they are.The CRA needs your DH's drivers license and request to un-mix his credit file. You can if you want make a photo copy of his credit report - highlight and number everything that is wrong. And in the letter start addressing each numbered item and what is wrong and what you want done. When you know a file has been mixed once, it is best to pull periodically to make sure they don't mess up and mix once again.
