I sure could use some advise on my rights and trying to stop a garnishment especially if it will cause a financial hardship. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!! Kylie Posted August 7, 2003 Report Share Posted August 7, 2003 Uh oh......I know how it feels...I got nailed last Oct (CA for Sears) and I had a judgement against me. MY ADVICE?? Get your head out of the sand and strike a deal with them. I fought the garnishment with the reason: "head of household" (which I am) but they fought me and rather than go head to head in court (I sure wish I had known about this board then...cause I wouldn't have ignored it...I would have known to validate) I gave in and agreed to payments (what choice did I have? They garnished my wages and BELIEVE ME...they were getting a BIG CHUNK of my paycheck). THIS WILL NOT GO AWAY......have your wages already been garnished?
