counselor4kids
I recently disputed one 30 day late on my TU report. That account now shows that for the past 24 months every single month has a 30, 60 or 90 day late status. I called Gateway (the creditor) and they said that they have only reported the one late. I have disputed it with TU but how did this happen and how can it be fixed? This is outrageous!
jam
When this happens, get the OC to put in writing that they didn't report it as TU says that they did. Then send the CRA a copy of the letter.
counselor4kids
How can the credit bureau do something like this? This is a huge mistake.
kb9tbq
It was not the CRA, it was someone at the creditors direction that did this, when they got the verification card from the CRA.You can push your point with the Creditor to fix the problem by showing them a copy of your credit report showing what has happened. And asking their immediate attention on the matter.
counselor4kids
I spoke with a Gateway rep and she said they only show one 30 day late about 15 months ago. She said there is no way that they would have reported every month late for the past 24 months. Shouldn't TU be held responsible for this? I disputed again, but we are applying for a mortgage and don't really have 30 days for them to get their act together.
kb9tbq
The creditor may have a problem with their reporting which they are unaware of, I see stuff like this happen with my customers from time to time.Important thing now, is to get the creditor involved to fix this mistake as soon as possible. They are the only ones that can move fast enough for what you need. Also get a letter of confirmation confirming the fact of your true credit history with them. This way you can show the mortgage company the fact of the matter, while the creditor is in the process of fixing the CRA part for you.
