Anonymous
Do you have anything in writing stating Arrow would accept that amount as settled in full on your account? If yes, can you prove it was received by the due date on said letter? If it was not received on time and not for the correct amount, they can continue collections on the remaining balance. Arrow doesnt add "fees" but they do add 18% interest.
chingasaholo
no, I cought the debt the first day they got it. I called the O/C and they told me they sent it to arrow. The O/C gave me the amount due and I called arrow. Of course, arrow gave me a number a little higher than the O/C did. arrow agreed to settle for that amount. I dont have any letters from them saying that any amount is owed. I doubt I'll get one, I'm planning on validating them soon. Maybe, the mini-miranda letter is running late in the mail or something
IronMan
Unless they can provide a copy of the agreement which you signed at the time you began your relationship with the OC to prove they have any entitlement to those fees, tell them to pound sand. That is also why validation is a such a crucial step. Validation would have revealed any entitlement to such "fees" on the original agreement, contract, etc. If no proof of such, then they can't ask for it, nor do you have to pay it.More than likely these idiots won't be able to prove anything. All they're doing is trying to squeeze the $150 to break-even for what they paid for your debt in the first place.Cheers!
Anonymous
If the CA can produce a copy of the agreement that clearly identifies additional fees to be collected upon default, what is considered reasonable charges and costs? The CA wants 50% in charges based on the outstanding debt.
