herauntsis
I have seen several references to this document, but the actual text is proving to be elusive. Searched the FTC site from stem to stern, and can't find it. Anybody know where it is hidden?

herauntsis
In an FTC opinion letter, I saw a reference to "the Federal Trade Commission Commentary on the FCRA." I also saw a reference to it somewhere else that mentioned it could be found on the FTC website, but I can't find it. Apparently, it is a document from the FTC that comments on and clarifies the FCRA. It probably does not carry the force of law, but it seems to me it could be a valuable tool, if I could just find the darn thing.
calawyer
Here it is. The only version I know of on line is in "PDF" format which means that you must download acrobat reader to view it. It's free and lots of legal stuff uses it, so I'd say it's worth the time. If you want to look elsewhere, the cite for the official staff commentary is 16 C.F.R. 600 through 622.http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/waisidx_01/16cfr601_01.html
