Anonymous
Could someone fill me in a bit more. I know where to serve "Agent forProcess," but if they are in an other county--and the CRA is in anotherstate--who shows up to represent CRA. Experian is my target--theyreally blew it. kimber6337
The Service Agent listed for your state will be the one to show up, even if they are in another county, but you will file in the county you reside.
calawyer
Often the agent for service of process is nothing more than someone designated by the company to accept legal papers on its behalf. It may be a separate company like CT Corp in Los Angeles who is the registered agent for hundreds (thousands?) of companies. The person showing up in court better be an attorney or (in small claims) an employee of the company who can testify.
