LadynRed
I *may* have something for you on these scumbuckets. They are harrassing me for 2 accounts. I haven't pulled my CR since they 'acquired' these, so I don't know yet if they've re-aged, but I'll be pulling them in the next week or so and I'll be in touch if this applies. Anonymous
I just ran my credit report an the only thing on there was "Sherman Acquisition" (with no other OG party name) for the amount of $2633 with the date opened as 01/2003.I find that a bit odd since I haven't had any credit since 1997.Please advise. Anonymous
OK... I have a question/problem. AT&T Broadband sold my husband's account to Sherman \Acquisition for $700 due to not returning a cable box. I found the cable box, returned it to AT&T, paid the late charges and thought I was done. Sherman Acquisition says that it doesn't matter what I did with AT&T because they now "own" the debt. They want me to pay another $700 even though I have already taken care of this. I have mailed them a copy of the receipt from AT&T and have requested AT&T send them a letter on my behalf. This is still on my husband's credit report.Does anyone know what I need to do??? Do I need to get a lawyer involved. Does this have anything to do with the class action suit. Please help me!!!!Thanks,Diane Kesler
Anonymous
Your profile says you live in Texas. As of 1-24-03 Sherman was not bonded in state to collect debts according to Secretary of State and are considered third party debt collector under Texas statutes http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/statutes/fi/fi0039200.html#fi004.392.201.Was this recent? Anonymous
In regards to my earlier post....The first call I had was actually from Gulf State Credit in September of last year. I took care of the issue with AT&T Broadband later that month and notified Gulf State Credit at that time. I received a notice from Sherman Acquisition after that, twice, once before January 1st and one after January 1st. I mailed the letter with the documentation after the second notice. I had not heard back from Sherman Acquisition, so I thought it had been taken care of. It wasn't until I got my husband's credit report that I realized it was still affecting his credit.Does anyone know Sherman Acquisition's number? I am out of town and am trying to get a hold of them. Thanks for helping me. I appreciate it.With gratitude,Diane Kesler

tadenam
I just e-mailed Flyingifr regarding Sherman Acquisition. I had never even heard of them before yesterday. My husband ordered his credit reports so we can get things in order to buy a house and they were on there. The account has a date opened of 10-02 and my husband has not done anything with his credit for more then four years so they obviously re-aged it. I did not know they could even do that. We have no idea what this is even for!!!
Anonymous
My husband and I just did a credit report and I also have a charge for something from Sherman Acquisition. I have no idea what it's for. I haven't had any credit applied since my divorce in 1999. I will be calling them and finding out what it's all about. Anonymous
My husband and I are getting ready to deal with these Sherman people. They bought a old charged off account from another company, (reopened it) and is now getting ready to charge late fees. I found out by pulling our CR and seeing there name pop up. Can they actually start trying to up the price of a loan that was charged off to bad debt?
smogtek
As I understand it, once a debt is charged off ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can be added to the outstanding balance. You might want to check your local laws though.
