cowboy72
Is there anything in the credit law that keeps CRA's from putting bogus addresses on your report. I have something like 55 different addresses or variants. I have moved only three times in my life. The CRA is EQ. This was on my credit report that I recieved in Jan or Feb. Can they also put on your report 10 different ways to spell your name? I have signed my name only one way for all of my life. Any comments or suggestions would be great. DocDon
Call them and ask them to delete whatever is not correct. Simple as that. Tell them the only name and address that is supposed to appear on your credit report. A lot of that info comes from what your creditors report as well (ie. 123 Any Street, 123 Any St., 123 Any Drive, etc.) This is nothing to get excited over. DocDon
Glad to help. If they give you a hard time about this (which I could only see happening if you talk to a complete idiot), tell them you want only one name, address, previous address if required, date of birth, etc. to be listed in the personal info section to prevent cross-contamination of credit files with someone else of similar name, address, date of birth, etc.
cowboy72
Well on top of all that they also had a completly different date of birth for me as well. Of course I would'nt mind being a couple of years younger. I was born in NOV 72 and they had me at MAR 74. Tell me that ain't wrong.
DocDon
All it takes is one slip of the finger and you've got a credit nightmare on your hands. I would take care of this first thing tomorrow. At least they didn't say you were deceased.

From what I hear, it's a pain in the a**. I've heard some people took all the required info and walked into the CRA's local office and got everything straightened out in person.
