Does anybody have any experience with these guys.

This is what they wanted to do and when I called it on them they

got mad.

I sent them a copy of my credit reprot (all three) they told me that they could take off 8 negitives, it would take 8 to 12 months and it would cost me $300 up front and $60/month.

The rep on the phone was cool, and I figured I want to be on good terms if they were going to fix my credit.

I told him it was illegal to charge up front. He then said, "well, we arn't really a credit repair company, we are a debt negotiation companay and if you want we won't charge you an a up front fee).

I said I would keep an open mind and to send me a contract.

To my surprise they sent me a contract with a "POWER OF ATTORNEY" contract. That blew me away. A power of attorney gives them the right to do anything with my credit and creditors.

So I never called them back. I got on this board and started working on it my self. Well 2 months latter they called again,

and I told them, Hey, I got allot of stuff taken off my EXPERIAN, but TRANSUNION AND EQUIFAX are slow. If you guys are willing to sign a "Limited Power of Attorney, with specific authority to act on some of the creditors that I designate, I might go for it". Well, they didn't like that and told me that I was doing a good job and they gave me some advice and basically told me ADIOS.

... what do you think these guys where/are up to.

Oh, and also at one point I asked them if they would negotiate with my creditors could I send the creditors the money directly.

They said I had to send them the money and then they would pay the creditors: What up with that.

..... what do you guys think.

... If we want to clean up our credit do we have to do it ourselves.

I don't mind paying somebody to do this but all these guys sound worse than the collection agencies.

This is a debt settlement company: keep far away from them.

They will have you sign power of attorney; insist that you pay the $300 up front before they even work on your case.

All statements from the OC will be re-directed to them. They won't pay; they will sit on the accounts waiting for everything to go charge off. They will wait till the creditors are wanting to take you to court to collect. Then they will step back in and cut a settlement deal for the lowest possible amount.

Thus saving you money in the end; but totally destroying your credit in the mean time.

That power of attorney will hurt you in more ways than one; so beware.

Staying here; and learning will do you so much better being in full control of your own fate.

Thanks.

I'm surprised they are still in business.

I was raised not to judge a book by its cover, but the guy sounded like a rat, and a could smell one when they first called.

I guess the moral of the story is: Don't judge a book by its cover, but if it sounds like a rat, and smells like a rat, IT A RAT.

...... RUN
