Peh102
Hello, I have a small problem. I have a credit card with a fairly large balance. This account was with Providian, which has had numerous problems recently. Last June, my account was sold to Chase. I recieved a short letter from Chase telling me this and the trans. would happen in Aug. In Aug. I have my statement from Providian and make my pay. online. However, apparently after the 17th Chase took over the account and showed no payment for the month of August. I receive a phone call from a Chase rep. I explain that I have not received anything in the mail with my new account number or ...anything. Which is the truth!!! She was fine, said that she would take off the late fee, (ha) if I made a payment over the phone. So, I did. She also said that my due date was the 8th. Now, here it is, the 11th. No statement except from Providian. I logged onto the Chase web site, but can't get into my account with a number. And, no, I didn't write it down when the woman called--which by the way, the second payment I made to Chase, has not cleared my bank. I called Chase yesterday and they have no record of me, I then called Providian, and I only get a recording advising me to go to Chase.Help What do I do??Peh/pa
herauntsis
I am not sure what to tell you, other than to carefully document all of this so that when the late pays start showing up on your credit report, you will have something to back you up. You are not responsible for the fact that their internal processes are so screwed up, but you are going to need to be able to prove it was them being discombobulated that caused the problem. admin
That sucks. You're caught in the cross-fire of inadequate/criminally inept papertrails from their sale. I'd keep reporting the problem, they have logs of everything (ha! - that seems funny after my last comment) when you call, so if you keep calling, most likely they will eventually get this straightened out. Which is a pain in the butt for you. Maybe try complaining to the BBB about Chase and letting them know? Sending certified mail - at least until this gets straightened out. Losers.
