stonewall
In April of this year, I had a car repored by Arcadia Finance. I realize that I defaulted on the loan ad they had the right to come and take the car. My question is this. 1) When contacted by the repo company I told them where the car would be so they could come and get it. 2) I rec'd a letter( not Certified) from the finance company telling me what I owed to them for the car. But I never rec'd a waiver or anything else to sign to give them permission to change the title over to them so they could sell the car. I just want to know how to get it off of my CR so I can go and get another car and make them leave me alone. I am not trying to avoid he debt but if they mess up why should I just let them abuse me. Also I have not heard from them since June of this year and when I went to the DMV to check my plates it still comes back as registered to me. I live in Cook County IL any help would be wonderful. admin
I think in the case of a foreclosure, they automatically transfer the title. That doesn't let you take it off of your credit report, sorry. The only way to get it off is to dispute it.
stonewall
Ok I understand that but fro m what I have researched in the last month or so, IL Law says that they have to let me know in writing what the car was sold for( All I got was a letter saying I now owed $x) and that they had to have me sign something to sign the regristration over to them in the case of a repo. I know its on the CR for 7yrs but don't I have any remidies against them if they have botched the repo?
admin
Not on your credit report. It will help you if they try and go after you for the balance, though.
