Fade to Black
I sent a check for payment last month and it was returned to me uncashed. I received a letter from a company stating that they have assumed the 2nd and I should send payment to them. I called them and said I have not received any indication from the OC that the debt was sold to you so you need to contact OC and have them inform me in writing. I have not heard from either company in the last two weeks. Do I send payment to new company? Does OC have to notify me in writing? Thanks for any response. vincent
Did they inform you why the check was returned uncashed?Maybe you should call the OC to find out what is going on.
LadynRed
The OC is under NO obligation to tell you when they sell your account. However, its typical for the NEW creditor to notify you that they are now the owners of the loan and give you new payment information. I don't know that they're legally obligated to do so, but I would think it would be required, otherwise a lot of people would be in default by the omission.
