Anonymous
I am one of those wonderful people that Providian put the screws to. Undisclosed fees, credit line increases, credit insurance etc. etc. etc. I thought with the class action suit all would be finally over with them and now I just got served by arrow financial services for not paying these fees. I never wanted them, never asked for them. I paid for all charges of material purchases, cut the card up and returned it to Providian and they continued to charge me fees and interest on the fees. I dont want to hire a lawyer for such a small amount. Any help on how I should address my reply to the court would be greatly helpful.Thanks.harpes2003@yahoo.com
retmar
The only thing I can think of is that you never authorized them, and, if this is true, how can you be liable. Most of these CC companies have telemarketers affiliated with them. I would use this as a defense. That was my wife's problem. They would always call to sell her things, she would decline and next statement, there it was. She would call, fight, they would finally give in and refund part of it, then she would call to get the balance removed. She finally gave up and told them that once they straighten her account, she would pay. Of course that was the wrong way as she met A$$et. Then, when she sent them the DV, she has never heard another word from them. Since then, we have opted out on each of our cards so this won't happen again. If it does, we have a strong argument.
