toomuchcredit
My spouse settled with a CA and paid the settlement amount. Our attorney prepared a document which claimed no liability to the debt even though we paid it). The document was signed by a manager at the CA. After the settlement was paid, the CA filed the collection on my spouse's credit report and won't respond to our letters (not certified/registered). We now plan to send a letter via registered mail, but what else can we do?
calawyer
It sounds like you have a claim against the CA. Have you been denied credit because of the reporting? What state do you live in?
toomuchcredit
TX...and yes, to the denial of credit. What next? How can we position our next letter so that we don't actually have to take this to court.
