Anonymous
My husband and I committed to a voluntary surrender of collateral, and consent to assumption of our manufactured home. This after many months of financial hardship, the bank told us that they would handle the sale and hold us liable for any deficincies, and whatever payments that were due would be included at the end of the loan....this past month we checked our credit report, the bank is reporting this account as over 7 thousand dollars delinquent! We have been told by various mortgage lenders that this was a scam, that if they were going to charge us for late payments then they should have just let us sell the home on our own. Immediately after we surrendered the home we had to give back the keys and they had new ones made. Has anyone dealt with anything like this?
