Anonymous
We are in the process of reparing our credit. We recenlty asked for validation on our previous paid debts with a local collection agency. They responded with 3 out of the 5. One of them is a bad check written out by my spouse on a joint account. Even though I did not write out the check can they still report it as mine debt?Second, one is my spouses completly and not mine but is listed on on credit report. Can they do that?We live in WI and I know we are joint state.. Not sure if that matters with a credit report or not.

Let's change that to 'Yep' - you are liable for the account since it is joint.Second, one is my spouses completly and not mine but is listed on on credit report. Can they do that? No! If they persist, ask them to show you proof.
Anonymous
Thanks, I do have copies of both. The one lists my spouses name and not mine any where...
