kb9tbq
No matter - you still want to send them written notice to not call you. Keep a copy of your letter to them.

bw4444
I second the motion! Don't call them. They like to use the phone because they get 10 times more response from people than just using the mail. Also, they know they can do all sorts of illegal arm-twisting knowing the poor dope on the other end of the line doesn't even realize their rights are getting violated.Don't fall into the trap of trying to explain things to a collector. They are not interested! They only want to know when you will send a check and how much it will be for. They are interested in nothing else. You are a meaningless widget in their collection factory. The phone is everything to a collector. Take the phone out of their hands!!! Don't call them or talk to them. Invest in caller ID. Do EVERYTHING in writing! Swede
Our little tagline for collectors is "if they can't put it in writing, they're probably lying"
oreome32278
well. thanks guys.. i was kinda nasty to this creditor and i received a letter in the mail today stating htat she tried to contact me to resolve the matter.. she wanted me to know that the OC had files in storage and they weren't going to pull them so if i did a dispute online w/ the CRA she will have it deleted once they contact her.. they only send updated info to the AGENCIES every 2 months and the next time would be MARCH 3 and i would probably want it removed by then.... A collection agency that is nice..!!!! she also said that she was here to help me and gave me her direct extension and above info in writing if i ever needed it... i think i shall send a thank you note!!!!
