cybercrusader
I just got a response to my request for validation from the wonderful people at NCO. It reads in part:"...please be advised that the above-referenced account is closed in our office. According to our records, we have not reported the account to a credit bureau. Should you have any information that will assist us further, please contact the undersigned."What exactly are they saying and what's the next step?C>

Have they removed it from the files? If not, ask them to send you a copy of the UDE they use to communicate with the CRA's- people have gotten lucky and had those sent to them, it's worth a shot. cybercrusader
The debt is still on my credit report and is not in dispute status. The NCO response is odd since only last month they sent me a collection letter. Also, in another post I mentioned that this same debt was perhaps punted to another CA (Wyse, I believe) within 30 days. I'm not sure if this is a game they play, or incompetence, or both. Anyway, I'll send them another letter, but what's a UDE? Thanks.C>
